Lacey Singleton grew up in Dallas, Texas, and completed her undergraduate degree at Colgate University in upstate New York, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors in Spanish. She then attended the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law and graduated with honors in 2008. While in law school, Lacey was a teaching assistant for the legal writing class and the Executive Editor of the Journal of Law and Family Studies, in which two of her own articles were published. Lacey also received the College of Law Outstanding Achievement Award for both the Criminal Process and Criminal Penalties classes, as well as an award for having earned the highest grade in her legal writing class.

Lacey began her legal career with LDA in 2007 as a law clerk in the Appellate Division, and she became a trial attorney in 2008. Over the course of her career, Lacey has taken over 50 cases to trial and has defended thousands of clients facing both misdemeanor and felony charges, including homicide, kidnapping, robbery, burglary, rape, assault, theft, and drug charges. In addition to handling her own felony cases, Lacey was promoted to the position of Chief Misdemeanor Attorney in 2015 and she now supervises and trains the attorneys in the Misdemeanor Division. Lacey is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Utah Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Salt Lake County Bar Association.
