Mitchell Rickey grew up in Henderson, Nevada. He completed his undergraduate degree in Philosophy at Brigham Young University. He then attended the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington, Indiana. While in law school, Mitchell clerked for the Hon. Marc Kellams, working on criminal and post-conviction matters. He also interned with the Lawrence County Public Defender’s Agency where he assisted in trying multiple felony cases.
After graduation in 2013, Mitchell returned to Utah and immediately began a fellowship with LDA. He became a trial attorney in January, 2014 and has since defended hundreds of clients confronted with both misdemeanor and felony charges. He is passionate about public defense and enjoys every aspect of working with LDA.
