Owen Stewart graduated cum laude from the University of Utah in 2008 with a BA in Japanese. Owen then attended the University of Southern California Gould School of Law on a USC Law Scholarship. During law school, Owen worked for the USC Post-Conviction Justice Project, first as a student intern, where he successfully represented clients before the parole board, and later as a student supervisor, where he helped new clinic members with parole submissions and habeas petitions. In 2011, Owen was awarded the Dorothy W. Nelson Justice Award for his outstanding work in the field of public interest. Owen joined LDA in 2012. Since then, he has taken dozens of cases to jury trial, representing clients in both misdemeanor and felony cases.
