Biography

Steffen Soller grew up in Germany and completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Utah in Chemistry with an emphasis in Biochemistry.  He then attended Graduate School at the University of Utah and graduated with a Master’s of Science degree in Chemistry. His research was focused on Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry and Biochemistry dealing with “Modeling the [NiFe] Core in Hydrogenase and CO Dehydrogenase.” After completing graduate school, Steffen joined the Utah State Crime Lab as a Forensic Scientist where he specialized in Drug Chemistry, Impression Evidence (Fingerprints, Tire Tracks, Footprints, Blood Spatter Analysis), and Crime Scene Investigation.  Additionally he taught Chemistry and Forensic Science classes at Westminster College and Southern Utah University.

 

Steffen then attended the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law and graduated with high honors in 2007. While in law school, Steffen was a William H. Leary Scholar and a teaching assistant for the legal writing class. Steffen also received the College of Law Outstanding Achievement Award for the Constitutional Law class and completed an externship with the U.S. District Court in Salt Lake City.  After Law School, Steffen became a registered U.S. Patent Attorney and worked for an Intellectual Property Law Firm in Utah and a European company as in-house counsel overseas.

 

Steffen joined LDA in 2013 as a trial attorney. Over the course of his career, Steffen has taken many cases to trial and has defended clients facing both misdemeanor and felony charges.
