Ralph got his law degree from the University of Utah in 1994. While there, he won the American Jurisprudence Award for Legal Research and Writing and was a T.A. in the same subject.
During law school Ralph did a clinical internship with LDA and loved the court action and office comradery so much that LDA was the only place he applied to work. Ralph has received the Mitsunaga Award from LDA and the Distinguished Service Award from the Utah Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (UACDL).
In addition, Ralph is the Chair of the Capital Case Committee of UACDL and is the Founder and Director of Utahns for Alternatives to the Death Penalty, a coalition of organizations and individuals dedicated to abolishing the death penalty in Utah.
